When I first met you at. Paris book signing, with my 8yr old granddaugher, Max just have been only 13! She is now almost 26 – babies no longer. Such a handsome young man!

Hi Kristi,
We’ve been « friends » since you first started-I do feel like I know you and family. We walked side-by-side on different continents. Max is the same age as our grandson (who we helped raise) and I enjoyed reading your comments as he got up to similar things as ours when they were younger. Our (Tristen) turned 30 May 3rd. His girlfriend (Evie) turned 30 the 12th. And today they got married! (May 18th) It’s a circle, isn’t it? They’re pretty much grown now- our kids. Just popped out at me that you posted about Max’s birthday today- just another reminder of our parallel lives. We spend a few months every year in France since 1996! Mostly in a little village near Nice. I’ve learned more and more French by various means, including you! We can get by. Our « kids » all went to French-Immersion school her in America and all have been to France on visits. They speak much better than we do, for sure. As long as I speak in present tense I get by fine. And, more importantly , I can understand a normal conversation when someone speaks to me. We’re negotiating right now to rent our apartment longer term to get away from America to find a kinder, gentler place to spend our senior years (at least the next 4 years) So thanks for all these years of being so open with your life. I think of you as a friend. And thanks for your part in my French vocab. Keep your pen in hand?!
