  1. Kristi and JM –
What a fabulous idea and project. I love that you are creating a book of shared intention and purpose – together. I’m very inspired by you both. Looking forward to following along.
    Love and care,
    Kim D.

  2. Kristi,
I’m reminded of our own moves as Jack was transferred within the company and then changed companies, one of which changes brought us to Dijon for a couple of years. I remember the wrenching pain of leaving friends and familiar places, where we’d built a life, to strike off into new territory. But life is choices and like the blind old man moving into the nursing home, responded when told what it would look like, with “I love it!”, I worked at choosing to garner what good memories I could of what we left, and to anticipate the new place and life and people with the attitude of it being an adventure with unlimited possibilities.
As I’ve enjoyed sharing your glimpses into your adventures in the emails, I look forward to watching your story unfold in this book.
I love my French friends’ words of encouragement: Bon courage.
    Amicalement

  3. HOORAY FOR YOU! May it all unfold in a SUCCESSFUL fashion for you.
Kristi, Dear Kristi, you have always embraced an unconventional approach to everything you do! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. With much love and great wishes for this project, Eileen Burns

  4. Kristi, what a brilliant idea! Ouldnt wait to push the right buttons to get on the list. Although asking, or, rather giving us the opportunity to comment along the way might be a regrettable decision. We think we are family already and this invitation just solidifies that notion, so with opinion in hand, we will share. Hope you are smiling. All will be with love, I’m certain. Blessings on this new journey and prayers for you and Jean-Marc as you create this NY Times Best Seller and Hollywood’s latest Academy winner. Get ready to shine even brighter and for the world find out what all of us have known for years. You are a beautiful gal and a wonderful story teller. Love to you both.

  5. Very touched by your words, Jacqueline. And thanks to everyone who has written in with such encouragement.
I can tell you Im struggling through chapter two and wonder if I should just rewrite! But in order to keep on schedule, I think its best to keep going, and accept the good and bad along the way.
All of the kind comments keep us going.
    Mille mercis!

  6. Break a leg on this book…a grand idea and I’m so happy to be reading it, bookworm as I am. I’m inspired by your idea and will love it, I know. God forbid, Healdsburg……
Nice town, I know the ex-mayor years ago.

  7. Better late than never ! Sorry it took a little longer than others.
What an innovative way to share your experiences . . .
Thank you Kristie & Jean-Marc for sharing !

  9. Congratulations. I have enjoyed your blog for many years. I met you a few years ago at the Vineyard wine shop in Denver. You are an inspiration, for many qualities, but your consist follow through on your goals, to the finish line gives me courage. I bought your first 3 little books in 2005. Your children were so young that they thought it was special to lick the many beautiful stamps for the package. Good luck with the publication process. Thanks for your presence in my life. 10. Bonjour, Kristi!
I have been following your blog for a few years now and have enjoyed your beautifully written stories and thoughtful insights. In September 2015, my husband and I visited Mas les Bruns for a wine tasting while we were visiting Seillans with my older cousin. We were delighted to meet you both and so sorry to hear of your subsequent troubles prior to your finding a new home in La Ciotat. You two are a case study in resiliency! In 2019 we bought a small apartment in Bargemon (83830) and planned to move there from Maine in June 2020, but la COVID had other plans for us. The happy news is that we arrived in France a week ago and are now settling into retirement life in our small village. We plan to visit La Ciotat at some point this fall or winter for the express purpose of stocking up on a few bottles of wine – we know that anything Jean-Marc recommends is sure to be delicious. Best wishes to you and your family!

  11. Hi Kristi, I look forward to
    reading more from you. I
    shared with you that my
    daughter, Janelle,
    moved
    to Paris in 2002. Her
    daughter,
    Noa, is now starting her
    study
    of law. My daughter had
    a yoga
    studio in Paris.
    After her sister suffered from
    metastatic breast cancer, she
returned to school. She is now
    a clinician working with families
    dealing with breast cancer.
    Her
    husband has recovered from hogkins
lymphoma. Their son is 14. I was with
them in July 2021 at l’Île de Ré and
hope to see them in 2022.
Bless you and your writing and sharing.
    Kathy

  12. Hello and Happy New Yr. Wanted to ask a Q and don’t know anyone there but you. I noticed when we were in France, where we rec’d a groaning board of fresh food for breakfast, each morning, there was a black rind cheese, soft-ish but not at all like brie, delicious, mild, served each morning. Pale, pale yellow-white. Found some occas. with dark, green rind. Can’t find this cheese inthe US. Every lunch or bfast buffet, it was on the table. It’s softer than regular cheddar. Would you, by chance, know the name? Thank you for your kindness and for helping us through this pandemic. You have been a life-saver. Looking forward to reading your book. Hope you and yours are all well. RL

  13. Nineteen years of your blog! Congratulations Kristi!
Our golden, Mulligan, is almost 13 1/2 now. Lots of pills for his hips. We think he has a bit of dementia too. He seems to get lost in our rather small town home sometimes. Then he
remembers where he is. At times he plays like a puppy, then his back legs collapse! So sad.
But he still has fun. Greetings to Smokey R. Dokey! (Is that it?
The temperatures in your home state have now reached 105!

  15. Hi Kristi!
Ricci is perfect!!! Love the pictures!! What name is your camera that takes such beauties?
    God bless, Claudia P.

  16. Kristi,
That is a beautiful line you wrote “Perhaps that is peace: when the clock stops ticking and the heart opens up to the moment at hand.” It is worth repeating every day. Thank you for your writing and your heart.
