It is with great sadness that my family and I announce that Michèle-France–mother, belle-mère and granny extraordinaire–has passed away on Christmas Eve.
We will share more about her life when we return to France for her funeral, which will take place on January 4th, 4 pm local time in France.
Amicalement,
Kristi, Jean-Marc, Max, and Jackie

Dear Kristi, Jean-Marc, Max and Jackie
My thoughts are with you all at this time of loss of a special Mother, Belle-Mere and Granny. May your precious memories continue to sustain you and bring to mind the wonderful times you shared with Marie-France. The loss of a mother is a huge heart-ache but time will have memories that bring laughter as well to soften the sadness.
Love and thoughts from New Zealand

My deepest sympathies to Jean Marc and the whole family. I know she will be deeply missed. You have written of her with heartfelt emotion. May she rest in peace. Do funerals in France differ greatly from those in the U.S.? Even as a former teacher of French I could never find descriptions.
Dear Kristie and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My family also suffered a loss on Christmas Eve and so I truly understand your sorrow. We must remember all the good times and take comfort in them.

Dear Kristi,
My heart hurt for all of when I found out about the passing of your cherished belle-mère. From your writings she always sounded like the kind of mother-in-law I would like to have had. My husband’s mother died when he was 18, so I never had a belle-mère. Look at her son and look at your children; she still lives in them and, of course, in your heart. As we say in my church “May she lie down in peace and rise up in glory”. Deepest condolences to your whole family.
