WIN A ONE-WEEK RENTAL IN PROVENCE!

It is a great pleasure to announce our biggest giveaway ever: a one-week stay in this charming village home near Aix-en-Provence. Borrowing the first lines of the home's listing, I can tell you this place is unique:

LES BOUGAINVILLIERS, a splendid stone 'Village House', renovated by an imaginative French architect, was once used as a location in a French film…

And a little about its whereabouts…

St. Cannat has the PERFECT location for exploring Provence. You'll be just 15 minutes from Aix and in the center of all the other historic and beautiful places you'll want to visit: Avignon, Arles, St. Remy, Aix, Marseille, Cassis, the villages of the Luberon, St. Tropez, and perhaps on to Nice and Monaco.

For this giveaway, the winner may choose between two calendar periods–both lovely times to stay in Provence!:  August 22 – 29 OR November 7 – 14.

  1. I liked the review of Sylvia (from Camden, Maine); she seems to notice the same things that I do. Also, well written.
I would prefer the November dates, but either would be fabulous!

  7. My favorite room is the landing! The blue, orange and yellow color scheme is gorgeous. The chest and the rug against the orange wall and floor look fantastic! Alternately, I love the photo of the view! Every room looks beautiful; a visitor to this house can’t go wrong. Here’s hoping chance is on my side! Merci!

I enjoyed her comments about how easy and delightful it was to experience quotidian French living in St. Cannant.

  13. All fantastic reviews that make you want to visit! My favorite was from Victoria from Brooklyn, NY. Her comments about the friendliness of the locals and the closeness of everything is encouraging to those of us just learning to speak French. Can’t wait to pratiquer avec les Français.

  15. I enjoyed the “month in Provence” review because that would be wonderful. All the reviews were lovely to read but they made me ache for Europe.

  17. This one spoke to me:
The only thing we regret is not having stayed for a month! It was the perfect spot for exploring Provence, since St. Cannat has easy access to the towns and cities we wanted to visit, and yet after having done so, we were always glad to return “home” to an “undiscovered” town where you’d see people going about their daily lives not directed towards tourism. And yet walking through the quaint streets was a joy. Buying the newspaper, delicious baguettes, and picking up the makings of dinner would take just a few minutes, which was the main reason why we chose a “village” home. Specifically this house had wonderful windows through which you could see a field, stone house and a fountain… something rare in village houses. It was comfortable, spotless, very spacious and with wonderful atmosphere. Besides going to many of the Luberon and Alpilles villages, the best was to discover others, each a wonder in its own way and only a short drive from St. Cannat. The owner, Cynthia, was so easy to communicate with and most especially also her manager who was always available. And lastly, we were there in November which was a perfect time to visit the area. Beautiful clear days and cool temperatures!
