i LOVE YOUR WORD -A-DAY BLOG. My only problem is that accented words come across as english substitions and for a beginning/intermediate student, I can not always determine the correct accent without some effort to discover the correct word. I don’t know how to solve that problem but find that I cannot send accented characters or other language alphabets without gibberish on the document. I sent some greek greatings to a friend with disasterous results. A PDF is the only way to solve my problem. Thanks for your kind attention in this matter.

Please, please reinstate the pronunciation
part of your lesson. Listening to a native speaker is invaluable. Words must be used in a sentence with proper intonation if one really wants to speak French (like a French person). Repeating one word over and over again is too basic.

Happy New Year. I am so glad that i am back on line- i have missed the site and the blogs. Having just got back to Dubai from la maison secondaire in Aups- experiencing a lovely xmas and new year there….visiting Colmar and Allos and walking in the snow- i must admit i am glad of the warm sun again.I have also just completed La porte tordue- an excellent book to recommend.

The first gift I opened on Christmas morning was my absolute favorite, and what a surprise!! Two bottles of Rouge-Bleu!! (2008 Dentelle) My husband found the wine shop in Portland that carries it, had it sent here, and voila, I will never be the same! It is AMAZING, and I think there were 1,000 tiny Frenchmen dancing in my mouth as I sipped it, it was that distinct and eloquent!! Give Jean-Marc my regards and raves on his good work!
